Vad förklarar att judar har nått så stora framgångar? Som exempel kan nämnas att av 62 mottagare av Sveriges Riksbanks pris i ekonomisk vetenskap till Alfred Nobels minne har 24 varit judar (i strikt mening), vilket ger en andel på ca 39 procent. En studie, ”How to Explain High Jewish Achievement: The Role of Intelligence and Values”, publicerad i Personality and Individual Differences, finner följande:

Throughout the 20th century, Jews have been greatly over-represented in western nations among intellectual elites, in the universities, and among the higher socio-economic classes. The two principal theories that have been advanced to explain this are that Jews have high intelligence and, alternatively, that they have cultural values that promote success. We review the evidence and present new data suggesting that high intelligence is the more important of these two factors.

Judars framgångar har stört många antisemiter under århundradena. De har ofta försökt få det till att judar på ett oegentligt sätt har tagit sig fram, genom konspirationer av olika slag, men det verkar snarare som att framgångarna helt enkelt beror på smarthet.
