En av mina favoritförfattare, Jeffrey Archer, åt lunch häromdagen på River Café i London. Han var inte helt nöjd:

Though I’m bound to ask, am I the only person who dislikes waiters scraping left-over food from plate to plate when they clear the table? When I asked my waitress about this, she said, ”If I don’t, it means I’d have to come back two or three times.” Well that may be a good enough reason for the customer not to come back two or three times. 

Nej, Jeffrey, du är inte den ende som tycker så — men jag måste erkänna att jag ibland, i hemmiljö, dukar av på samma sätt som servitrisen på River Café. Är en sådan dubbelstandard acceptabel?
