Jaha. Så betryggande att dessa två insiktsfulla damer vet det. En som inte har nått samma nivå av upplysning är New York Universitys Mario Rizzo:

This in a nutshell is also the problem with both fiscal stimulus and “forced lending.” The stimulus is likely to stimulate lines of production that are not sustainable. … The root of the policy problem is that the “Keynesian” solution takes the simple aggregate demand model too seriously. It proceeds as though sectoral imbalances don’t matter. In this view, the current situation is not a coordination problem but some kind of confidence problem that leads to a deficiency of demand in general. The theory is inadequate and thus so is the solution.

Inte heller Harvard Universitys Alberto Alesina eller University of Chicagos Luigi Zingales vet lika mycket om ekonomisk politik:

Many are concerned about what we can do to help the poor weather this crisis. Unlike during the Great Depression, we have an unemployment subsidy that protects the poor from the most severe consequences of this recession. If we want to further protect them, it is better to extend this unemployment subsidy than to invest in hasty public projects. Furthermore, tax cuts have a much better effect on job creation than highway rehabilitation.

Harvard Universitys Robert Barro måste vara lika okunnig, då han skriver:

Much more focus should be on incentives for people and businesses to invest, produce and work. On the tax side, we should avoid programs that throw money at people and emphasize instead reductions in marginal income-tax rates — especially where these rates are already high and fall on capital income. Eliminating the federal corporate income tax would be brilliant. On the spending side, the main point is that we should not be considering massive public-works programs that do not pass muster from the perspective of cost-benefit analysis.

Så synd att dessa fyra professorer inte kan läsa svenska, det språk Mona och Wanja valde för att förkunna sina insikter.
