Enligt BBC kräver muslimska vetenskapsmän och präster nu att Greenwich Mean Time ersätts av Mecka-tid som riktpunkt för världen :

Om man ser tidsstandardens placering som en indikation på kulturell dominans föredrar jag definitivt Greenwich framför Mecka. Rule Britannia!
